The Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast (PAPJC) will host a special art exhibition and sale on Saturday evening, August 25th at the historic Monmouth Beach Bath & Tennis Club to benefit FCS. The show, entitled Coastal Living, will run from 5 – 8 pm and feature more than 150 original works of art from more than 20 local artists, many of whom are nationally recognized. PAPJC is a group of artists who work “en plein air,” a term that is used to describe painting that is done outdoors. Started in 2003 with just a handful of artists, the organization now includes more than 50 members. PAPJC often paints as a group, drawing inspiration from the varied seascapes and landscapes that make up the Jersey Coast. PAPJC founder and event organizer Judy Stach says the natural elements play an important role in their work.
“We have hosted charity events for years and the response we receive from the community is remarkable,” Stach explains. “FCS shares an affinity with us to help those in need. We are honored to again to bring our show to Monmouth Beach Bath & Tennis Club to benefit FCS.”
This year’s show will include works from 22 participating artists including: Cynthia Barham, Kathleen Beausoleil, Victoria Belopolsky, Dianne Bollerman, Patricia Burke, Patricia Corboy, Barbara Grena, Robert Hart, Alexis (Cuozzo) Herman, Anita Means, Anthony Migliaccio, Miriam Noel Murgio, Grace O’Connor, Debra O’Donoghue, Pratima Rao, James Sechiano, Yelena Snovsky, Judy Stach, Sandy Taylor, Frank Urmey, Margaret Mary Vail and Fran Wood.
Proceeds from ticket sales, sponsorships and and a portion of the sale of the artwork will help support FCS programs and services, including protection for vulnerable adults, home care for the frail and elderly and school-based volunteer programs designed to promote childhood well-being.
