Nearly 250 guests joined members of the FCS Navarumsunk Auxiliary to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its annual Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show, Wednesday, May 10 at Branches in Long Branch. FCS is currently accepting applications for its free Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) class to be held this summer, July 5th through the 26th at Keyport High School in Keyport, NJ. The 76-hour training program, which can cost upwards of $1,500, is being offered at no cost to students through generous grants from Investors Bank™ and the Mary Owen Borden Foundation. The grants also include funds to cover many of the associated costs and fees normally absorbed by students, including educational materials, application and licensing fees. The FCS Thrift Boutique is partnering with Cinderella’s Closet of Monmouth County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting self-esteem among young adults, to offer a special sale of new formal dresses and gowns at the Boutique’s new location at 604 Second Avenue in Long Branch.

We are proud to announce the appointment of three new members to our Board of Directors: Rabbi Marc Aaron Kline of Monmouth Reform Temple, Carrie Page of Fair Haven and Jack Weakley of Middletown.

Spring is in the air, and the ladies of the Navarumsunk Auxiliary are gearing up for their 60th Annual Spring Luncheon & Fashion Show, Wednesday, May 10, at Branches in West Long Branch.
“We are especially excited to celebrate our 60th Anniversary,” says Auxiliary President Arlene Lospinoso. “Our Diamond Anniversary is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with so many of our friends and supporters, and to recognize the important work that what we have done as women to help fulfill the Mission and Vision of FCS.”
Six months after fire damaged the building that housed the FCS (Family & Children’s Service) Thrift Boutique at 307 Branchport Avenue in Long Branch, forcing the agency to suspend business for the remainder of the year, we are proud to announce that the store will reopen in March in a new location just across town, at 604 Second Avenue in the West End Plaza.
More than 2,000 Monmouth County children and their families had a brighter holiday season this year thanks to the kindness and generosity of all those who supported FCS 2016 Operation Sleighbells. Dozens of area companies, businesses, schools and organizations participated by collecting and donating several thousand toys, books, coats, and infant necessities to help fulfill the holiday wishes of area children and families in need.
