FCS Thrift Boutique to reopen in new Location

The FCS Thrift Boutique’s new home at 604 Second Ave., Long Branch

Six months after fire damaged the building that housed the FCS (Family & Children’s Service) Thrift Boutique at 307 Branchport Avenue in Long Branch, forcing the agency to suspend business for the remainder of the year, we are proud to announce that the store will reopen in March in a new location just across town, at 604 Second Avenue in the West End Plaza.

Operation Sleighbells Serves Record 600 Families

Managers from 18 Shop & Stop grocery stores deliver toys and gifts donated by their employees.

More than 2,000 Monmouth County children and their families had a brighter holiday season this year thanks to the kindness and generosity of all those who supported FCS 2016 Operation Sleighbells.  Dozens of area companies, businesses, schools and organizations participated by collecting and donating several thousand toys, books, coats, and infant necessities to help fulfill the holiday wishes of area children and families in need.  Learn more


Honoring our Leading Lights

img_0162Nearly 200 family, friends and supporters raised a glass to FCS at the agency’s 2016 Leading Lights Gala, Saturday, October 29th, raising more than $100,000 to support critical community-based programs and services. The celebratory event, which took place at the beautiful Navesink Country Club in Middletown, marked the 107th anniversary of the agency and served as the perfect backdrop to honor three individuals for their outstanding contributions to FCS: Gloria Nilson, Bruce Thompson and Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank, and former FCS Board President Mary Ann McDonald. NJ Company awards 7K to FCS Reading Buddies

img_0722FCS Reading Buddies, an inter-generational childhood literacy program serving more than 1,600 area school children, today received a generous grant of $7,000 from the Church & Dwight Employee Giving Fund, Inc. (EGF) to enhance and expand the program. Dominic Mascolo, a senior financial analyst and the son of FCS CFO Anna DeJesus, presented the award to FCS CEO Delly Beekman today on behalf of the company.
