Every May, the agency’s Navarumsunk Auxiliary hosts an Annual Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show featuring designer fashions, a ladies shopping boutique, 50/50 raffle and themed auction. Thank you to all those who contributed to an outstanding 2016 FCS Golf Classic! The event, which was held Monday, June 27th at the Navesink Country Club, raised more than $40,000 to support FCS programs and services.
Each September, the agency’s Navarumsunk Auxiliary of Family & Children’s Service hosts a bridge tournament to benefit FCS. Leading Lights Gala
The title Leading Lights Gala comes from a nautical term: a pair of light beacons used in navigation to indicate a safe passage for vessels entering a shallow or dangerous channel. Much like Leading Lights, FCS helps the most vulnerable in our community to navigate daily challenges and live their lives safely, with as much dignity and independence as possible.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR: The 2017 FCS Leading Lights Gala will be held Saturday, October 14 at Navesink County Club.
Leading Lights also has a second definition: a prominent and influential member or a person who is a very important member of a group, organization, or community. Once again, we will honor several friends who have been instrumental in advancing the agency’s mission to provide compassionate care, intervention and education to people during challenging times in their lives.
In 2016, we paid special tribute to three Leading Lights: former Board chair Mary Ann McDonald; long-time community partners Bruce Thompson and Thompson Memorial Home; and Gloria Nilson—each of whom has been a generous supporter of the agency and staunch advocate for all those we serve. Read about their many contributions in our 2016 Leading Lights Gala Ad Journal.
The Gala is our largest annual fundraising event, providing essential support for the agency’s 14 diverse programs and services. Its success is dependent on the generosity of local businesses, organizations and community members, like you. To learn more about the numerous Gala underwriting, sponsorship and donor opportunities available, contact FCS Director of Development Diane Gribbin..
