Supporting People During Challenging Times

Who We Are

Founded in 1909, Family & Children’s Service (FCS) is Monmouth County’s oldest private nonprofit social service agency. All our programs and services are provided regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity, language spoken or physical or mental ability. And while FCS partners with many organizations and government agencies, in many cases, we are the sole county-designated provider of unduplicated services and the last hope for individuals, families and seniors in crisis.

  • Like most working mothers, Jean juggles her daily schedule with the busy schedules of her four children. But for this single mom, the juggling also includes frequent time away from work without pay to care for a daughter with multiple disabilities. The holiday giving program provides gifts of toys, coats and pajamas to children whose families are facing financial challenges.
