Six months after fire damaged the building that housed the FCS (Family & Children’s Service) Thrift Boutique at 307 Branchport Avenue in Long Branch, forcing the agency to suspend business for the remainder of the year, we are proud to announce that the store will reopen in March in a new location just across town, at 604 Second Avenue in the West End Plaza.
The FCS Thrift Boutique in Long Branch will be closed indefinitely due to fire. The blaze, which broke out in the upstairs apartment of the building at 307 Branchport Road on July 7th, was contained to the upstairs unit and no one was injured, but the resulting smoke and water damage forced the agency to temporarily suspend business. On the evening of Thursday, July 7, there was a fire in the building of our Thrift Boutique, located at 307 Branchport Avenue, Long Branch. The fire started in the apartment above the store and we are most grateful that no one was injured.
